Attention science: some people have only one name

For scholars, our name is like our brand. Consistency in how our names are represented by others is crucial to building a proper research identity, especially online. Read this plea from Indonesian scientists with single names for more recognition of naming diversity by the international and online scientific community.

A case of an Indonesian man with a mononym is also included in my paper on "Differential Responses to Constraints on Naming Agency among Indigenous Peoples and Immigrants in Canada" (Language and Communication, 2019).
