Does Adopting “American” Names Prevent Discrimination?

Does changing your name to an Anglophone variant help to avoid discrimination? Drawing on different research studies, this article outlines situations in which name-based discrimination can potentially happen. Interestingly, in one instance, a student always introduced himself as Chinese, but either with an Anglophone or Chinese name, resulting in different outcomes showing how his name mattered.
