Annual Meeting of the Canadian Society for the Study of Names

On June 2, 2016 was the annual meeting of the Canadian Society for the Study of Names. Lots of interesting papers, especially one by Michal Ephratt on experiences of Israelis who share their full name with a famous person. In a kind of mirror parallel to the immigrants I study who alter their names to "fit in", these people develop strategies for regaining separation from the famous person they are always associated with.
